What to read to kickstart or refuel your financial journey
I want to continue our financial journey with a few book recommendations. The books that I’ll share with you have helped me to gain a better understanding of finances and lifestyle. It was an important step towards figuring out how I picture my life in the long run and what I need to do, to get a little closer to that version. So, I hope you’ll benefit from these, too!

1. The Millionaire Next Door by Thomas Stanley and William Dunko
“The Millionaire Next Door” dives into the lifestyle and habits of ordinary people that became millionaires through frugal living and saving consistently. These are not people from significantly high-paying jobs or lottery winners, and still they managed to get to that million. This book was a real eye-opener and motivating as well. I highly recommend this for inspiration and financial education.
2. The 4-Hour Workweek by Timothy Ferris
The 4-hour workweek is a fascinating book about strategies, habits and the right mindset to firstly, find out what financial freedom looks like to you, and secondly, how you can get there. I enjoyed reading this book and was amazed about this new perspective. lt’s not just great to learn about finances, but life and the resource of time in general. l’m planning to refer back to this book regularly, because I think it’s one of the books that give you new ideas over and over.
3. Achieve Financial Freedom by Sandy and Matthew Botkin
This book dives into detail about financial planning from top to bottom. It has really helped me to create a personal financial plan step by step. I think it’s a great book to get started with the journey towards financial freedom.
4. The Bogleheads’ Guide to Investing by Mel Lindauer, Taylor Larimore and Michael LeBoeuf
This investing guide really goes into depth and I would recommend to start with the previous books if you haven’t read much about finances so far.
5. Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki
This book is living through a very succesful remarketing these days. It’s a very interesting account on Robert Kiyosaki’s own financial journey and his two biggest teachers in life: rich dad and poor dad. Both have taught him very valuable lessons which he shares in an engaging way.
