Are they good for acne prone combination skin?
In this post I want to review two product from the K-Beauty brand Atoclassic. It’s a hanbang based brand, aiming at gentle and effective formulations. I tried the Real Tonic Soothing Multi Cleanser and the Calming Smart Lotion. Both come in the most beautiful and luxurious feeling packaging! I also love the hygienic pump bottles.
Atoclassic Real Tonic Soothing Multi Cleanser
The cleanser is a lightweight, almost jelly like textured cleanser with a pH of 5.5. Because of the low pH it’s especially gentle on the skin. It contains a blend of root and herbal extracts like codonopsis lanceolata root extract, chrysanthemum and aloe extract and claims to heal and soothe the skin.

Water, Chamaecyparis Obtusa Leaf Extract, Cocamidopropyl betaine, Chrysanthellum Indicum Extract, Potassium cocoyl glycinate, Lauryl Glucoside Dipropylene Glycol, Codonopsis Lanceolata Root Extract, Glycerin, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Algin, 1,2-Hexanediol, Caprylhydroxamic Acid, Butylene Glycol, Disodium EDTA, Xanthium Strumarium Fruit Extract, Nelumbo Nucifera Leaf Extract, Angelica Tenuissima Root Extract, Pogostemon Cablin Leaf Extract, Poncirus Trifoliata Fruit Extract, Nardostachys Chinensis Root Extract, Lysimachia Foenum-graecum Extract
How I use the Soothing Multi Cleanser
I use it as 2nd cleanser in my evening routine.
Texture of the Soothing Multi Cleanser
It’s a lightweight texture that feels like a slightly watery jelly, if that makes sense. It lathers up soft and not too bubbly. It feels very nice on the skin and is easy to spread and wash off.
Effect of the Soothing Multi Cleanser
It feels gentle on the skin as there is no dry or squeaky clean feeling. The skin feels soft and clean. There is no redness and it seems that the cleansing process is less stressful on the skin. The cleanser is able to remove even the most stubborn oil cleanser – currently I’m struggling with the Eveline Glycol Therapy 2% oil & peeling cleanser. This oil cleanser lathers up to form a layer on top of your skin, that is very hard to wash off. But the Atoclassic cleanser removes it easily and gently, you don’t have to rub around.
Do I recommend the Soothing Multi Cleanser?
Yes, I do recommend this cleanser! It’s great for my acne prone combination skin. I love that it’s low pH and the herbal extracts have a soothing effect. It limits the stress of the cleansing process on the skin. The price seems high, but you do get a lot of product. You can also wait for a good sale. You can shop it here.

Texture of the Calming Smart Lotion
The lotion is lightweight and smooth.
How I use the Calming Smart Lotion
I use it as my daily moisturizer as last step before sunscreen. It layers nicely underneath and doesn’t crumble or roll up. I don’t have a sleeping pack right now, so I’m also using it as last step of my evening routine, which seals all of the previous products in, but is not as intense as I like it. The recommended use as daytime moisturizer is therefore very useful.
Effects of the Calming Smart Lotion
It absorbs nicely and doesn’t leave any sticky feeling behind. The lotion doesn’t clog the pores or cause trouble with sunscreen or makeup on top. It gives enough moisture and seals the hydration in effectively. I haven’t noticed an additional calming effect, but as I already use other calming products, like in my toner step, I don’t expect to notice an increased effect. I don’t get any redness after using this though, so I think it does calm the skin.
Do I recommend the Calming Smart Lotion?
Yes, I recommend this lotion for acne prone combination skin and think it will also be nice for oily skin. Stick to it as daytime moisturizer. For dry skin types and the evening routine, you need something richer or more intense. The price seems high, but you do get a lot of product! Most moisturizers don’t come with 200ml of product. But of course there are also many more affordable options and I don’t recommend to break your bank just for this product. If you want to try it, you can shop it here.
