What does it do and is it good for acne prone combination skin?
B oil is one of the oils from the well-known brand The Ordinary. It’s vegan, water-free, alcohol-free, silicone-free, gluten-free and cruelty-free! This oil contains micro-algae in a blend of different oils: squalane and oils of marula, argan, baobab, pataua, brazil nut, inca inchi, rosehip and borage. I wanted to try it because all of these oils and their numerous benefits sounded very intriguing and I only have good experiences with The Ordinary. Also: Stay tuned for a small announcement at the end of the post!
What does it do?
The B Oil helps to support the natural skin barrier, enhance radiance, fight free radicals and balance irritants. The oil comes in a UV protected glass dropper packaging.

Texture of B Oil
The oil is a blend of different oils, so it’s not overly greasy but also not a spot on dry oil. It has a golden green hue due to the micro algae and a slight herbal scent. It’s not really pleasing but it’s not disturbing me either and by now I’ve gotten used to it.

How do I use it?
I can mix this into my daytime moisturizer to create a richer cream for the night or just use it on its own. Currently I prefer to use it on its own in my evening routine 2-3 times a week or when I feel my skin needs it. Since it’s an oil it’s better to apply it after your water-based hydrating products. I distribute about a third of the dropper on my fingers and gently press it onto my skin. I pat a little to help it sink in better.
Effect of b-Oil
The B-Oil feels nourishing on the skin without being overly greasy. Of course my face will look shiny after applying a full layer, but it doesn’t feel like it’s sliding around. In the morning my skin looks calm and feels soft.
Do I recommend B-Oil for acne prone skin?
Yes, I recommend this oil for acne prone skin. It’s also suitable for combination skin and feels versatile for many skin types. I like the effect that it has and that you get many different oils and their benefits in a single product. But it’s still not my favorite oil and the scent was something I had to get used to first.
Where to shop?
You can shop it directly from Deciem here. If you’re located in Germany, it’s also availabe in different shops like Douglas here.
